First, identify the areas you'd like designed.  New kitchens on average are 15% of your homes value, master bath is approximately 8%, leaving all other interior  areas at approximately 5% each. 

This depends on how quickly you make your decisions and if product is readily available. Expect a minimum of 2 months.

This matters before deciding upon areas and budget. Decorating is quicker, less expensive and is primarily used to make space look nicer.  Designing takes longer, installation occurs, special order materials are custom made, a larger budget is required but, is used to add value to your home as well as make your space look nicer.
